Chiropractic Care

Our office will provide you with the highest quality chiropractic care in a caring supportive environment. Whether you are in the middle of health crisis from a new injury or a chronic condition, or you are ready to make the critical transition to a healthier lifestyle, our team will work with you to help you and your family reach your health goals.

Chiropractic involves adjusting the joints of the spine and extremities. An adjustment puts motion into joints that aren't moving enough. Joints are surrounded by nerves that make their way to the brain. When these nerves are stimulated by an adjustment they block pain signals going to the brain and cause the brain to release opioids.

Functional Medicine

Functional Medicine

What is Functional Medicine?

When visiting a Functional Medicine Physician, you can expect to spend more time with them on the first visit than any other type of physician. This is because the physician will want to get to know all of your underlying symptoms, daily activities, mental state, life style and eating habits. Functional medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease. The entire patient is taken into consideration, not just the presenting symptoms. Diagnosis are made through a series of convenient testing.

An action plan will be established through the patient and doctor to promote healing and to pursue lifelong health. A typical treatment plan will include supplementation, diet and lifestyle changes, physical activity and how to deal with stress. These changes that will be made influence the expression of your genes and therefore the condition that you are experiencing.

What are you Going to Do to Me?
Our office makes everything as simple as possible on each and every patient. We realize if you are sitting in our office you have probably already been through several doctors visits before and are tired of doing the same thing over and over. There are several simple steps to our process. The first day you will have typical vitals taken, fill out necessary paperwork (also available online) and talk to Dr. Cheryl about your history and what brings you to the office. If it is determined that you are eligible for our program an appointment will be set up for you by our staff at a local lab for a blood chemistry panel. Once you have your blood taken Dr. Cheryl will analyze and interpret the results. You will be called to come back to the office for a full explanation of your test results and given a health blueprint that carefully and simply lines out every step in your program. Dr. Cheryl is available for support 24/7 if you are accepted into our program. A support system is one of the most important aspects of any change and we do not take this responsibility lightly.

What is wrong with me?
Define Wellness believes in using scientific approaches to determine the root cause of your symptoms. At the time of your consultation the physician will learn about your health history and likely have several probable causes to the symptoms you are experiencing. We do not take guesses at Define Wellness, we will use your blood-work to determine your diagnosis.

Do I have to go on a Diet?
Depending on what your blood work chemistry determines we will likely offer a personalized nutrition plan that is designed to best suit your body's needs. Lifestyle change is a large part of feeling better. We do not believe in fad diets, and our current patients will tell you that the nutritional programs we suggest are not overwhelmingly strict and you are guided through every change.

How Much is the Initial Consultation?
The initial consultation is $75. If you decide to continue with our program this will be deducted from the blood testing cost.

How Much Does Testing Cost?
During your consultation Dr. Koelling will determine what tests you will need. Pricing will be based on how many blood panels are tested. The testing costs $449.00. No hidden prices will occur, costs are discussed up front and it is up to the patient whether or not they want to pursue treatment.

What is the Investment to Join the Functional Medicine Program?
Define Wellness Functional Medicine Program is based on the results of blood testing.

What forms of Payment do you accept?
We accept, cash, check, Visa or MasterCard and Discover card.
We also offer payment plans to make the program affordable on your budget.

Can I use my FSA or HSA Accounts?
Yes. Please check with your HR department to be sure.

Does your office take insurance for Functional Medicine?
We do not accept insurance or Medicare for our consulting services. Your case requires special attention and time that is not covered by insurance companies.

Can you take me off of my prescription medications?
Define Wellness physicians will never take you off of your prescriptions that are requested from another Dr. Your body will begin to heal itself naturally and we will leave it up to your prescribing physician to wean your body off of the prescription medication where they see fit. We will happily work in sync with your other physicians and believe in treating our patients as a team approach.

How long will it take to feel better?
Every person, and every condition is different. We always look for a patient to begin feeling better around the two month mark, although many of our patients begin to feel much better within the first few weeks of treatment.

Can I do this program with my partner or friend?
Yes, we always encourage a support system for our patients. We cannot have consultations or appointments together due to patient privacy and HIPAA regulations but we will happily offer a discount to couples, friends, or teams that would like to start on a healthy lifestyle together.

Can you help me?
Whether you can be helped through our program will be determined at your consultation. Dr. Cheryl works successfully with several different types of afflictions, and all age ranges. It is not guaranteed, though, that you will be appropriate for the program. Not every person is accepted into the program and space is limited due to the amount of time it takes the physician to work with each patient. A patient must be dedicated to their health in order to be accepted into treatment. If it is decided during your consultation that the program is not an appropriate fit for you, no costs will occur.

I'm Ready to get started, what are the next steps?
Please contact us to set up a free consultation to make sure you qualify and to verify our solution is viable for you.

Cold Laser Therapy

Cold laser therapy is a type of non-surgical and non-pharmaceutical treatment that can potentially provide pain relief or pain reduction, as well as decreases healing times. Cold Laser Therapy is especially good at healing soft tissues injuries such as Sprains/Strains, Plantar Fasciitis, Tennis Elbow, Carpal Tunnel, Knee & Shoulder Pain.

Lipo Laser

Lipo Laser

Lipo Laser uses low level lasers to target the fat stores in your body. It works to convert these deposits into energy, which is burned off in post-treatment exercise. One major benefit to coming to Define Wellness to get your treatment is that it is conducted by a licensed doctor. This is an effective approach to weight loss and much safer than other options such as liposuction.

Spinal Decompression Therapy

Spinal Decompression Therapy

Effective Non-Surgical Treatment for Back and Neck Pain

Spinal Decompression Therapy is an effective non-surgical approach to treating Back pain, Neck pain and Sciatica caused by bulging, herniated or degenerative disc disease. Post-surgical patients suffering from spinal stenosis have also reported significant pain relief from Spinal Decompression Therapy.

What is Spinal Decompression?

Spinal Decompression slowly lengthens and decompresses the spine and creates negative pressures within the disc. This reversal of pressure creates a vacuum effect inside the spinal disc that helps to reposition the intra-discal material known as the Nucleus Pulposis. This is turn takes pressure off the pinched nerve that results in significant pain reduction. Studies have also shown that Spinal Decompression brings more oxygen, nutrients and fluids to the spinal disc that creates a revitalizing effect.
